Where There's A Will, There's A Way

Cinque Terre was everything I hoped it would be and more! Figuring out train tickets was stressful and intimidating but we made it and that's what's important. We arrived in Monterosso just in time for lunch, then we sprinted down to the beach, literally flung off our clothes, and dove into the brilliantly blue Mediterranean. We swam and sun-bathed for a few hours, then dried off and began the trek through the mountains to the next town. What a BEAUTIFUL hike - up and down and up some more, over slippery rocks, through cliff faces and leafy tunnels, only to emerge, sweaty and exhausted several hours later, directly above the breathtaking buildings and canals of Vernazza! Here, we explored, ate the best pizza I've ever had, stopped for gelato, and finally prepared to take the train home. We were deliriously tired; acting silly, singing and dancing, and, finally, crashing.

I have officially decided that I LOVE traveling!!! We had the perfect group - myself, Nicole, Jocelyn, Andrew, Jay, and Andrea - which made for interesting conversations and lots of goofing off. It was nice being so independent and getting to decide for ourselves what we wanted to do, and when, and where. I can't wait for the next adventure!

Arrivederci!

"Guys, I know this was a hard hike...but just think! Now all of our butts will look like Michelangelo's David." -Andrea
