Last night, we had our end of the semester banquet at a PALACE by the Duomo! Everyone dressed up and took taxis through the pouring rain to arrive at the beautifully decorated Palazzo Borghese. Dinner consisted of a handful of delicious courses, with speeches and dedications in between. I got to give a speech in appreciation of my italian professor, Giuliano. We also honored the students who will be leaving for good - a very bittersweet thing for all of us. After dinner we all gathered together to watch the official video documenting our experiences these past few months. I felt so incredibly blessed as I watched, knowing that in the past three months I have been able to experience more than most people do in a lifetime. It's easy to forget where we are, to get caught up in homework and social stresses and being homesick, but then the truth hits me all over again - I am in Italy! And I've gotten to travel all over Europe! And make amazing new friends in the process! And learn about God and the world and my place in it! WOW!!!
